A.D.W.I.T.- Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 -SAVE THE DATE
From February 2nd thru October 25th, every other Friday, for 9+ months, we will be hosting a bi-weekly, Texas Hold 'Em tournament style card game. To qualify for the end of year tournament you MUST attend at least 10 of the 20 scheduled events.
WHEN?
Every-other Friday, the cards fly promptly at 7 pm. You are free to arrive early. BYOB. $30 buy-in. No add-ons. No re-buys.
WHAT?
The All Donkeys Welcome Invitational Tournament (11/02/2024) will include a progressive pot that grows through the "regular season". The 20 regular season games also include prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd (and occasionally 4th) place.
Make sure you're "on the list"
We have many active players who have joined the group and will play any given tournament... In other words, the easiest way to make sure that you are invited is through the "WhatsApp" mobile messenger. It's free. It's easy. Download the app, then send me an email (below) and I will add you to distribution. Make sure you're "on the list".

Effective for Season Seven
The initial invitations for the biweekly game will be sent out based on your all time total points, which means that we are aware that this invitation system could limit some of the players to a limited number of games during the season that you will be invited to play. We have considered this fact and have come up with other changes/options/solutions.
(1) If you do not receive the first text message invitation approximately 14 days prior to the next event, and you do receive and accept a second-round invitation, then your buy-in will only be $20. (FYI - the regular buy-in for first rounders is still $30 total).
You will still be eligible to qualify for the final event, and we will “settle-up” with you when we confirm that you’ve qualified and want to play in the Final Event. To qualify, everyone will need to attend at least half of games available (this season being 10 out of 20).
(2) In addition to our regular biweekly Donkey games, we will be adding a number of unlimited-seating-Saturday-games. In other words, we understand that the new invitation rules are going to preclude some of you who may have otherwise religiously played the every-other-Friday game. The Saturday game is our way to keep our complete Donkey family intact. Consider it similar to the Big Game that we hosted in November. The Saturday game will NOT count in Donkey stats, it will start earlier, and we will post the dates, details and invitation in the WhatsApp thread.
(3) We have a new platform for invitations and RSVPs. We will no longer use the WhatsApp platform for our tournament seat confirmation.
The WhatsApp thread will remain for (a) friendly trash-talk, updates, and as a channel for all of us to communicate AND (b) we are going to use this forum for a secondary set of games aka The Saturday Game.
We already have your phone numbers, and we are implementing at direct-text system for Season 7. As previously mentioned, this season our games will not exceed 3 tables. Ideally we plan to host 24-27 people maximum.
By the Monday approximately 2 weeks before a regular game, we will send out the first batch of invitations. You will receive the invitations via text message.
To confirm your seat WITHOUT risk, you must follow the instructions on the text message and RSVP within the first 6 days and your seat will be confirmed.
If you have not confirmed your seat by the Sunday prior to the game, we will then send an invitation to the next person on the list. For example, if we send 27 initial invitations, and get 25 responses within the first week, we will then send additional invitations until we reach the maximum capacity on a first-come/first-serve basis. This method should ensure that you plan and respond ASAP (especially if you receive a text invitation with only a week remaining).
We know that this is an extra “layer” that no one has had to consider in the past, and it wasn’t an easy decision to make. But with the amount of work that it takes to prepare for 30-40 people (not always knowing what the number actually is), and the loss of Six Three, we felt that it was a good time to try something new and see if we can be a bit more organized.
Of course we will entertain any exceptions (as I said, please call or text and we can figure it out).
